1 opening is either any 15-17 bal without a 5cM or 4+ unbal. We play transfer responses to 1.
1 - 2 = 5+ diamonds, 4 of either major, 8-11 1 opening is unbal, usually 5+ but can be 4 if 4441 or 5 s 1m-2 = most invites with no 4cM 1m-2 = GF raise of minor 1NT opening is 12-14 in all seats/vuls and can contain a 5cM 1N-2 = forces 2, could be 6+m GF, most two-suited GFs, or wanting to sign off in any suit 1N-2N = most bal and semi-bal GFs (including with a 5cM) 2 opening is 18-19 bal and can contain a 5cM After we overcall, we play transfer advances in many situations. |
5 card majors, 2/1 GF
Sarik will sometimes downgrade and pass 12s, and both of us will use judgment to upgrade/downgrade in other situations. We may sometimes choose to open 1M with 12-13 bal with a 5cM, but only if intending to pass a semi-forcing 1N response. We respond very aggressively to 1 but soundly to other openings. We will often open light in 3rd seat, and will occasionally open 1 in 3rd seat with a subminimum balanced hand (intending to pass partner's response). We overcall and preempt relatively aggressively, especially NV. A 2M opening sometimes only contains 5 cards NV. |
4th vs NT, 3rd/low vs suits, highest or 2nd highest with no honor vs NT. We typically lead low from xxx vs a suit, but will lead highest if we've raised the suit.
Standard honor leads, A from AK At the 5 level of a suit or higher, A = attitude, K = count. |
