Occupation:   Attorney.  Marty is a partner in a law firm:  Connelly Sheehan Harris.  He and his boutique firm handle employment-related lawsuits everywhere in the U.S., defending employers when they are sued for discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, or the like.  Marty wishes his record at the bridge table matched his record in the courtroom:  he is undefeated on the legal battlefield (career record is 60 - 0). 

Bridge highlights:    After taking a 15 year hiatus from tournament bridge, Marty returned to the game -- and began playing seriously -- in 2002.  In the past couple of years, he and his regular partner, Jacob Morgan, have swept through the 0 to 5000 ranks, winning three NABC titles:

   ●  Won the 0 - 5000 Mini-Spingold (2006, Chicago)
   ●  Won the 0 - 5000 Mini-Blue Ribbon Pairs (2005, Denver)
   ●  Won the Red Ribbon Pairs (2004, Reno).

    Marty has not yet won an NABC+ event, but he has come close several times in the past two years:

   ●  2nd place:  Open Swiss Teams  (2005, Atlanta)
   ●  4th place:   IMP Pairs  (2005, Pittsburgh)
   ●  8th place:   Jacoby Open Swiss Teams  (2006, Dallas)
 
Other hobbies:    Avid golfer.  Also plays tennis, volleyball, and racquetball.  Enjoys other card games, too, particularly hearts and spades.

Jacob Morgan
 

Age:                30
Lives in:          Madison, WI
Grew up in:    Madison, WI
Occupation:   Fulltime bridge player and teacher.
                         Also sells bridge books at ACBL tournaments.  
                         Previously was a tax preparer.

Bridge highlights:
  Gold Life Master of the Year in 2005  (won the Mini-McKenney race)
    8th place overall in 2005 Barry Crane race (1,767 masterpoints)

  Dan Gerstman
 

 Dan was  borin in Buffalo, NY in 1948 and has lived there ever since. He's married to Sharon  whom he met at a bridge tournament. He has been an agent representing Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company since 1972. He enjoys bicycling, collecting old bridge literature and attending professional sporting events.

Danny's bridge accomplishments include winning the 1981 Open Pairs and the 1982 Life Master Men's Pairs and finishing second in the 1982 & 1983 Open Pairs and  the 2003 Open Pairs II and 2005 Spingold.

 Tom Carmichael
 

Age:  33
Lives in:  Kennesaw, GA (suburb of Atlanta)
Grew up in:  New Jersey
Occupation:  Network Engineer / Trainer

Bridge highlights:  Tom attended his first bridge tournament when he was 10 years old, and has been hooked ever since.  He is currently an ACBL Diamond Life Master.

He was an active member in the ACBL Junior program from 1992 until he was 'over the hill' in 1999, representing the US in international competition in about 10 different events.

Over the years, he has accumulated a number of notable achievements including:

* NABC win - 1997 IMP Pairs.  At the time of this event Tom was 23 years old, His partner (Joel Wooldridge) was 18. They are the youngest pair (combined ages) ever to win an open national title, beating out the previous record holders (Meckstroth & Rodwell) by 2 years.
* 2nd - 2005 Spingold Teams
* 2nd - 1999 World Junior Team Championships
* 3rd - 1998 World Junior Triathlon - Individual.
* Many other top 10 national finishes as well as dozens of regional wins.

Other hobbies:  Games of all sorts, including board games and card games.
